Wow its been 3 years since this VERY "wholesome" and kid friendly song has been released.

My God! What happened here? Because I'm hypnotized and I can't even find the right words to comment. I'm simply at a loss for words to describe how good this video turned out. Seriously, I feel that Bang Chan and Hyunjin gave everything to themselves (more than they already do) and simply managed to make it better than my expectations pointed out.

Now that I’ve heard that Hyunjin’s gonna be artist of the month I keep trying to figure out what sorta song he’d use and I keep thinking he’d use this one. He’s so proud of it and while Chan mentioned how they didn’t create a whole performance choreography for it, Hyunjin’s literally proven he can dance to anything! And this is really the sort of song that goes well with the sort of lyrical dancing that Hyunjin does (and seems to like).

Okay but can we talk about how good and clever the whole metaphor is? They said the song is about being extremely obsessed with working and being productive, so here they compare it with sexual desire, masochism and a toxic relationship, because they still find pleasure in the pain their obsession gives them. It's also even deeper and more interesting if we take into account that both Hyunjin and Bang Chan have talked about being workaholics (but they do love music, they do love what they do, they find comfort in it despite everything and they're passionate about it) and they're also two of the members that get sexualized the most. Now, in addition to that, we know that the industry overworks idols most of the time and also, tends to sexualize them when it's convenient. The song, the lyrics, the video, the choreography, everything is actually genius.

Beyond the lust, this is about the very real dangers of obsession with another person, knowing all the red lights are there and still choosing to ignore them or getting used to them. Don't forget, red doesn't only signal sexual desires/love/lust etc. It also means danger.

What I love about Stray Kids music is how they know how to play with silence. The guitar instrumental & the removal of the strings & Hyunjin’s “Now *pause* tell me…” it’s the way these two set the tone w/ their vocal fry & falsettos in this song that adds edge to it.
