Theory: After being stuck between worlds, I think this is the direct parallel to Levanter/Side Effects wherein rather than feeling closed off and secluded in open fields they encounter in their journey, the freedom and individuality they gained in God’s Menu and Back Door let them enjoy the roads they took-as long as they’re together. In the lyrics, the acknowledge the “confusion” and “storm” they went through all this time.
